Moka Akashiya Maid Cosplay

I keep saying I love this or that character, but I am being honest whenever I say it as I usually make cosplays of characters that I love. Moka is one of those characters. Making a Moka Akashiya maid cosplay was the right thing to do. I have always loved vampires and if you mix a vampire with sealed powers and a high schooler anything can happen. Rosario + Vampire was a series I really enjoyed watching and I will make more characters of it.

How I made my Moka Akashiya maid cosplay

My Moka Akashiya maid has two main parts, the shirt and the skirt. My skirt was a gathered circular skirt which was very simple to make. I made the shirt modifying a shirt pattern and adding puffed sleeves.

The chest piece was gathered with elastic to make it more comfortable and was added to the shirt. It all closed at the back. I also added trims to the bottom of my skirt which I gathered at the waist with elastic. The headband is again a piece of fabric which I gathered with thread.

My apron was very easy to make. It had the shape of a half moon with gatherings at the edge and pleats on top. I later added a ribbon so I could lace it at the back. It is great because it hid where the shirt and skirt met. To keep my cuffs stiff, I put some foam inside them. Finally, I made a petticoat to give extra volume to the skirt.

Wearing my Moka Akashiya maid cosplay

I have worn this cosplay several times. It was one of my first ever modified patterns and I really enjoyed making it. At the time I had no idea of make up for cosplay or how to style a wig. Nevertheless, I was very proud of it.

I really enjoyed being able to make a photoshoot at home with this cosplay. At the time I made I only got some terrible photos with my own phone. I would later on use this same maid outfit for my Sena Kashiwazaki maid Cosplay.
