Black Cat Cosplay

Black Cat was my first Marvel cosplay. I used to watch Spiderman cartoons all the time when I was a kid, however it never occured to me there was a great character I really liked. That is why I chose to make my Black Cat Cosplay. There are many versions of Black Cat. White boots, black boots, collar, no collar, straight hair, curly hair. The several times I wore her I chose to use a different look for her.

How I made it

For once I chose to buy a bodysuit. At the time, I didn’t know how to work with elastic fabric and I considered this to be easier. However, I still had to adjust it as the garment didn’t fit me as well as it should. I only had to add white fur to the right places. I can now make my own gloves but it was also very easy to find white and black ones at the store.

The one thing I did make was the mask. I used craft foam, heated it with my heatgun and shaped it on top of my head. Then, I made sure it wasn’t too hot not to burn myself and it worked very well. Finally, I sealed it with glue and painted it with acrylic. It stayed attached with a rubber band. Finally, I made a little medallion with foam and white foam and a strip of leather to wear it as a collar. For my make up I used the i.Fairy Cara green contacts the second time I wore it, as I was new to contact lenses the first time.

Wearing my Black Cat Cosplay

The first time I wore my cosplay was in Halloween with my friend Victoria as Miss Marvel. We were going to a manga convention that weekend and decided to go out for a few hours before we went to the convention.

Much later I wore the cosplay to a photoshoot in Montrose Studios, with a much improved make up and some adjustments like new boot covers and gloves. It was great and we managed to take amazing pictures in and out of the studio.
