FAQs

How can I download my pattern files?

Once you have purchased your files, check your email where you will find a download link. You can also access your files at any time from your user panel if you created an account.

I lost access to my files can you help?

If you lose access to your files, you can send me an email at [email protected] with your name and order number and I will send you a new link.

How do I print my patterns?

Download your pattern to your computer. I recommend you to use the free program Adobe Acrobat Reader to open your files. When your file is open click on Print and make sure your settings are set to Actual size/100% scale.

There is a white blank space around my pattern. Is this normal?

Yes, it is. This is because many printers have a limited printing area. The blank area will ensure your files are printed correctly and you won’t miss any important details from your patterns.

My test square is bigger/smaller than what it is supposed to

There is probably a printing error. Make sure your printer is set to Actual Size/100% scale

How do I assemble my tiled pattern?

Cut the right side and bottom border of your sheets. The tiles are organised in rows with numbers and columns with letters. Make sure they are positioned in order. Tape the sheets next to each other and cut your patterns.

The lines of my sheets don’t align

Please make sure you printed the file correctly. Check the test square to see if the measurements are correct. If not, print again making sure your print settings are set to Actual Size/100% scale. If your test square is correct make sure your sheets are aligned correctly. Sometimes, in particular with big patterns, there could be some disalignment with the sheets. A small disalignment is normal and won’t affect your final pattern. If the gaps are bigger than 1 cm / 1/2 an inch try repositioning the sheets.

My usual size doesn’t correspond with your measurement table

Shop sizes are different from pattern sizes. Every shop and pattern company have a different table of measurements. Follow the measurement table on each pattern to figure out your pattern size. If in doubt, choose the bigger size and adjust.

Do you offer your patterns on bigger/smaller sizes?

At the moment I can only offer the sizes listed in the patterns. This is because bigger sizes would require a full new pattern and testing and I don’t have the means available at the moment to offer you a quality product. I apologise for the inconvenience.

How can I make my pattern bigger/smaller?

It is possible to adjust patterns to add or remove a few centimetres to make them slightly bigger or smaller. Instructions are included in the pattern files. Please make sure to test these patterns before you use them as the results could not be accurate.

I used your pattern as instructed but it doesn’t fit me

Most patterns need adjustments so they fit you correctly. Make sure you took accurate measurements and match them with those on the measurement chart of your sewing pattern to choose your size.

If the pattern is too tight try with a bigger size, if it is loose, you can try wearing it inside out and pinching the extra fabric on the sides with pins. You can then sew the excess fabric so it adjusts better to your body. Try making a mock up with cheap fabric first and transfer any modifications to your final garment for a perfect finish.

Do your sewing patterns come with seam allowances?

No, they don’t. I find it easier to add seam allowances later to my patterns. This way you can modify the pattern so it fits your needs. For example, you can tape pieces together to create a new piece or change the position of a panel so it fits your design without worrying about how much seam allowance to remove in the first place. This also allows you to choose your preferred allowance for your project as I use centimeters and some users will use inches and certain techniques require different widths.

WHat format are your files?

All the sewing pattern files come with A4 and US Letter Size files. Most patterns come with A0 files too, if yours doesn’t please send me an email so I can send you the files. For vectors and other files check the listings for specific information.

do you offer projector files?

Unfortunately no, at the moment I am not offering projector files.

Does (insert pattern) come with video instructions

You can find videotutorials for most of my patterns on my YouTube Channel. Some earlier patterns or early releases may not have a videotutorial available. I don’t currently have links to my videotutorials on all of my patterns but feel free to check.

When can i expect my files

I aim to release my patterns as soon as possible. However, this is a time consuming process and in busy periods it can take up to two or three months to fully release a pattern. If in doubt of a specific pattern, please send me an email at [email protected]

will i get an email when my patterns are ready?

Sometimes. I will try to resend the order whenever I update the files. However, as this is an automated process and I do not have direct access to your personal data, this could fail. You are best checking your link or sending me an email if you have any doubts.

DO you offer cosplay commisions?

Unfortunately no. I do not accept commissions at the moment as they are very time consuming and would be very expensive for an average person. I would only consider working with a company with a budget that can justify the time and effort.

Can you make a custom pattern for my cosplay?

Unfortunately no. At the moment I am only selling patterns from cosplays I have made for myself in the past. Patternmaking is a complex and very time consuming process and I cannot guarantee my patterns will work without previously testing them. The price would also be too high for most people.

Have you considering making (insert cosplay)?

I have a long list of cosplays I would like to make. My choices depend on how much time is available for me, my own preferences and how many people may be interested in the pattern. If you would like to send a suggestion please feel free to comment on any of my videos or posts on social media, but I cannot guarantee I will be making the patterns.

Do you sell prints?

At the moment I am not selling prints but keep an eye on my social media as I may offer them sometimes for a limited time or bring some to a convention.

Will you guest at my local convention?

I would love to! Get in contact with your local convention and ask them to contact me.

I am new at cosplay, can you help me?

Sure! Read my Cosplay for beginners guide, there you can find a lot of information and help. Make sure to also visit my blog and my YouTube for lots of extra information.
