This cosplay was the inflexion from just ok cosplays to I am proud of myself cosplays. I had miserably failed on attempts to make armour before and it was the first time I modified or made a pattern from scratch. With a bit of imagination and a lot of effort I managed to make this cosplay. I am still proud of it.
How I made my Eldar Farseer Idranel Cosplay
For this cosplay I modified a base pattern with princess seams and made it shorter. I added all the details in white sewing bias tape around and also inserted the zipper at the back as it wouldn’t be visible. In a similar made I modified a pattern of a jacket to make the long coat. I lined it with dark red fabric and used bias tape for the edges.

All the gold details of my cosplays were made with craft foam. I then painted them with several coats of glue and used my airbrush to paint it all gold. The gems were a mixture of beads, polyestirene eggs and puffy glue painted with nail polish. At the time I was making gems in a budget.
Finally, I improvised the pattern of my skirt. When I look at it now I can see how wrong I was at the time but it worked at the time. If you want an easy pattern I would just recommend you a wide circle skirt for starters.
Wearing my Eldar Farseer Idranel Cosplay
I built this cosplay to go to a Warhammer convention, at the time called Games Day, the year before I had attempted to make another costume unsuccesfully. I made sure to get plenty of time this time to finish my cosplay. While there, I was really flattered with all the attention I got and I really enjoyed myself.
As I was really proud of my cosplay I decided to ask my friend Caitlin to take some pictures o my cosplay in the garden. I could consider this my first cosplay photoshoot ever! She took over a year to send me the pictures and I ended up editing them. You can see I was a total noob posing and editing. Nevertheless, at the time I was really happy with the results

This is probably the costume I have worn the most, it went to several other conventions and gaming days. It is now retired but it made me realise I could do anything I wanted if I really tried.
