Here you have my tutorial on how to make horns. Basically I used a lot of wire and I think you can see the process clearly in the pics. They are lightweight and they aren’t too uncomfortable.
Aquí tenéis el tutorial para hacer cuernos. Basicamente usé un montón de alambre y creo que podéis ver el proceso claramente en las fotos. Pesan poco y no son muy incómodos.
The process / El proceso
I started making a circle with wire and then i made the shape I wanted for my horns. Once I got the basic shape I put more wire around it. After that I attached it to a hairband with tape. I suggest you do both horns at the same time and try them periodically.
With the shape finished I covered it all with masking tape and started layering it with newspaper and a mixture of water and white glue (half and half). The more layers the stronger the horns but I highly recommend you to wait for the layers to dry before the next layer for smoother results.
At this point I could have used gesso or bondo or something similar to make the horns smoother but I didn’t have time so I painted them directly. The white details on Maleficent’s horns were made with thin rattail.
Empecé haciendo un círculo con alambre y después hice la forma que quería para mis cuernos. Cuando conseguí una forma básica puse más alambre alrededor. Después lo pegué a una diadema con cinta aislante. Os sugiero que hagáis los dos cuernos a la vez y que os los probéis a menudo.
Ya con la forma hecha lo cubrí todo con cinta de papel y empecé a cubrir los cuernos con papel de periódico y una mezcla de agua y cola blanca a partes iguales. Cuántas más capas más fuertes los cuernos pero os recomiendo esperar a que las capas se sequen para que el papel no se arrugue.
En este punto podría haber usado yeso o masilla o algo similar para hacer los cuernos más suaves pero no tuve tiempo así que los pinté directamente. Los detalles blancos están hechos con cordón de cola de ratón fino.
The process to make the horns was time consuming but they were easily made with materials that you can find at home. I used them for my Maleficent cosplay and I also made a tutorial for her staff.
El proceso para hacer los cuernos fue largo pero facil. Usé materiales fáciles de encontrar en casa. Los cuernos fueron parte del cosplay de Maléfica, del que también hice un tutorial para el cetro.
