I can’t tie bows. I’m sorry, I just can’t. They always look wonky and I never get them straight. However, I can fake a perfect bow. And today I am going to show you how to trick everyone with this simple and easy tutorial.
The perfect bow
The first step is to cut a piece of ribbon roughly twice the size of the bow you want to make. If you want, you can seal the edges wit a flame so it doesn’t frail during the process. Then we are going to sew a running stitch on the middle of our bow and pull. This will pleat the center of the ribbon. With the extra thread secure the middle section tying the thread several times around the ribbon and sewing it in place. Finally, cut a smaller piece of ribbon, fold it in hal and use it to hide the center of your perfect bow.
If you want, you can sew a couple of extra pieces of ribbon to the back so it looks like you actually knotted the ribbon instead of totally faking it. You can also glue ornaments on top or add a safety pin or hair pin to the back of it.
These ribbons are super fast to make and they will never get undone. They work great as a decoration and it is the perfect detail you need for your projects.
