I absolutely love artbooks. One of my favourite artists is CLAMP and I have always loved their designs. That’s why I decided to make this Tomoyo Purple Dress cosplay to experiment and recreate one of the amazing pages in one of their illustration books. Tomoyo is the best friend of Sakura in the manga Card Captor Sakura which I loved when I was a kid. Although this is not a very known dress of hers I just foun it beautfiul and wanted to recreate it.
Making off
I used fabrics from my stash to put together this cosplay. I made a pattern for a empire syle dress. The top is cotton and the skirt is white chiffon gathered in a rectangle skirt. For the top I bought a purple lace trim. As it was slightly too big I had to cut each flower individually and adjust it too my new width. Then, I handsew the trim to achieve the width I wanted.
I improvised a setting for this cosplay on my top room as I finished it during the Coronavirus pandemic in 2020. I tried to make the photos ressemble the original Cardcaptor Sakura artbook. Both the wigh and the contact lenses are from Uniqso.
