I grew up watching Sailor Moon, it was one of my favourite animes ever. It made me so happy when they announced a new Sailor Moon Crystal anime! I don’t think I could choose a favourite character but Michiru Kaioh is definetely one of them. That is why I decided to make a Sailor Neptune cosplay.
How I made my Sailor Neptune Cosplay
I thought this cosplay would be easy to make but I was totally wrong about it. If I had chosen to do so I could have done a simpler version with an old t-shirt, but as usual I wanted it to be as accurate as possible.
I got some stretch fabric and adapted a bodysuit pattern in order to get the ridge under the bust she has in her costume. All the puffy details I made adding some padding inside
For the skirt I made a double circle skirt and pleated it to give it a lot of flare. It was probably my favourite part of the costume. Notice that I made the sides slightly shorter to resemble her costume.
I used foam and some beads to make her headband and her magic mirror. I added some details with my glue gun and painted it all with acrylics.
At last, I added a sailor neck to my original bodysuit. Also, in order to make the ribbons of the cosplay bigger I filled them with a bit of filling. To make sure they stayed in place, I sew them to the neck.

Wearing my Sailor Neptune Cosplay
I first wore this cosplay at Summer Freak. After all, she uses water attacks and I thought it would be appropriate. We took some wonderful pictures at the beach that summer.
The next time I wore this cosplay was years later at Winter Freak. I convinced my lovely friend Larxenne to make a Sailor Uranus cosplay and go to the convention with me. Sharing your hobby with your best friend is the best thing in the world.
