Sakura is one of my favourite characters. After all, I have been a CLAMP follower for a long long time. For me this simple white dress is one of the nicest one she has worn and when I saw the fabric in the store I couldn’t resist myself.
Making my Sakura dream dress cosplay
The actual dress was very easy. The top was just a tube that I later adjusted to my body with darts. The skirt was a circle skirt which I cut shorter on the front.
I made the chest piece with golden vinyl fabric. Around, I sew bias tape and painted cabochons to give it volume. I glued the with E-6000 which is a very strong glue slightly flexible, ideal to attach pieces to fabric. All the little beads where gold miracle beads that I attached one by one.
I also made a memory feather with foam and acrylic paints. You can use heat to shape it an cut the sides to make it look more realistic.
Wearing my Sakura dream dress cosplay
I first wore this dress to the local convention with my first Lola who went as a Mokona. We had so much fun playing around! We were still very new to cosplay.
My brother is a great photographer, and he chose the perfect idilic place for this photoshoot. We went to a local beach with a little salt water lake very early in the morning. I think the results were just beautiful.
