I have been a cosplayer for many years now and I am aware that you can get really good quality wigs if you really want them. However, up until know I hadn’t had the urge to get a lace front wig. I mostly cosplay anime characters with big fringes so I didn’t need one, but my next character did need something different and that is why I chose to review this lovely Cocoa-Auburn Lace Front Wig from Uniqso for one of my next projects.
Packaging and Shipping
I ordered my wig with a pair of contact lenses that match one of my next projects. They came in a bubble wrap bag inside a biodegradable bag. The shipping was very fast and it got here in less than 10 days, it actually got here faster than part of my cosplay so you will have to wait to see the final results.
The wig came inside its own clear bag. It was held together with a net and also had some paper inside to keep its shape. Of course, it all arrived in perfect conditions and very tidy.
Description of the wig
This wig has a lovely colour and shape. You can tell the quality is outstanding immediately. It does look like real hair. It is very soft and has a natural shine. You can’t compare the quality of this premium wig to cheaper wigs. The Cocoa-Auburn wig has a lot of volume even straight from the bag.
The colour is a dark brown with a red hue in it. It is not too striking and it is very wearable. The wig features a hairline with the hair combed backwards. As any other lace front the net needs to be trimmed and adapted to your hairline which I will explain in another post. In order to fit it properly you need to glue it to your forehead with a special glue.
This premium wig adjusts very easily thanks to the hooks and little pins at the back that keeps it in place. I haven’t tried yet but I believe it would also be rather easy to wear a ponytail with it as the bottom hairline can be combed upwards.
The curls of the wig are almost too perfect. I love how they bounce when you move. You can keep them like this or comb them with your hand to get a more realistic look. If you ever need to, make sure you check my post on how to detangle a curly wig, as curly wigs may be a bit more difficult to maintain than straight ones. As this wig is heat resistant you can easily style it with your hair iron as well.

Of course, when you first get it, this wig comes with perfect curls. If that is what you are looking for just spray some hairspray on it and do your best to keep it tangle free. However, as I want to achieve a more realistic look I will be combing it slightly in the future. Here I am wearing it with my Sweety Crazy Lens Mirror lenses. I have already featured these grey lenses in a review.
This wig looks extremely realistic, that is why I would choose it for characters from films or comics. I actually chose this wig to wear it with my Carmen Sandiego cosplay. Also, I think it would be a really good wig for Black Widow in her Captain America film version and although they usually appear with redder hair I think it would also work very well for Poison Ivy, specially in her Arkham version or Mera in her Bombshell version.
Final rating
The Cocoa-auburn lace front wig is by far my best wig. The quality is outstanding and it is indeed very realistic. The colour is also lovely. As any wig it needs a bit of styling to make it more wearable but nothing a comb and a pair of scissors can’t do. However, I dropped one star on the comfort as you do need to glue the wig on to get the perfect look and it can prove a bit tricky and uncomfortable, specially for beginners.
