Long ago I watched this anime about the typical tsundere girl who finds it difficult to make friends and ends up hanging out with a group of nerds playing videogames and daydreaming about random adventures. Totally my kind of anime and it was so much fun! I soon decided I wanted to make a cosplay and I actually had the perfect clothes to wear.
A long time ago I had sewn a maid cosplay so I knew that only with a few extra bits I was going to be able to make this costume easily. Actually, I only had to make some butterflies and pretty much it would be done. I did start them several times but it wasn’t until several years later that I finally managed to put this cosplay together and shoot with it.
How I made the cosplay
As I said, fortunately, I already had a maid cosplay. I think maids wear pretty standard dresses and there are many characters that wear very similar outfits, only a few details will change. I first wore this dress for my Moka Akashiya cosplay, and you can check the process if you go to the link.
The only big variation on this cosplay appart from the wig and the contact lenses is the shirt collar and the butterflies, as well as some extra ribbons. The rest of the costume was the same as my original outfit. I also added the petticoat as I was never able to finish it the first time I wore my Moka. It add a lot of volume and flufiness.
Wearing my Sena Kashiwazaki maid Cosplay
I wore my Maid Cosplay at Montrose Studios, it is a great place with lots of 50s inspired settings, the moment I saw the bar I knew I needed to shoot with a maid there and Sena had been in my list for a long time. It is just a pity all those cupcakes weren’t real because I would have eaten them all.
I love Montrose Studios because you have a lot of settings to play with. After playing the maid in the 50s cafe area I went to the office to do a bit of cleaning. It is so tiring! I actually had lots of fun wearing this costume.
I believe I have improved so much since I first sew this cosplay, not only as a cosplayer but with my make up and dynamic posing for cosplay. In fact, I didn’t even wear contact lenses for cosplay at the time. I was very happy to see the results of this cosplay.
