Inu x Boku SS may have not been my favourite anime of all times but I surely fell in love with their characters and costumery. My Ririchiyo Shirakiin cosplay was just the first of a collection of cosplays which include her yokai form cosplay, her summer uniform and her counterpart as Karuta Roromiya summer uniform and Karuta in this same outfit. That is the beauty of cosplaying girls in uniform. They can share.
How I made it
As usual, for the dress I decided to make my own pattern with the help of a base pattern and modifiying some parts. I chose a black thick cotton twill for the uniform and white poplin cotton for the shirt. I decided to make my own shirt modifiying a commercial pattern to adjust it to my needs. For the cuffs I added the details of pearl buttons which really match the royal attitude of Ririchiyo.
I made the neck collar twice, as the first time I lost the piece at a convention. For the second collar I used a lace trim. Other details of the dress included are the black stockings and the garter belt and gold plated buttons for the dress. I used a long purple wig similar to this one and I cut a straight fringe on it. My contact lenses were very dark and didn’t show up well in the pictures, I recommend you to use the Sweety Devil Purple lenses for a more striking look.
Wearing my Ririchiyo Shirakiin Cosplay
I first wore Ririchiyo at a convention in Spain. It is a very comfy dress an it is very easy to wear. I would even consider wearing it outside the cosplay conventions. It is simple and clean but at the same time very girly.
I had the opportunity to work with amazing photographers at Woolton Hall and got a lot of pictures with this dress. The mansion where we took the pictures is abandoned and it is said to be haunted. That is why it was a perfect place to shoot with Ririchiyo.
