I chose to do Akame cosplay for Salon del manga de Barcelona. I had just seen the anime Akame ga kill and I had loved it. Actually, I finished the cosplay in 4 days on my breaks from work so I think it looks good considering how little time I had.
Elegí hacer el cosplay de Akame para el Salón del manga de Barcelona. Acababa de ver el anime Akame ga kill y me había encantado. Lo hice en 4 días en mis ratos libres del trabajo así que no está mal.
Making my Akame cosplay
First I started with the belt. I made my basic shape on foam and then I covered it with red faux leather. As you can see the trick is to cut the corners like in the photo to make a perfect curve.
Primero empecé con el cinturón. Hice la forma que quería de armadura y la corté en goma eva, luego la forré con polipiel roja/granate. Como podéis ver el truco para conseguir una curva perfecta es cortar en picos las esquinas.
Later, when I had all my pieces covered in faux leather I made cuts on them with a box cutter and introduced narrow pieces of faux leather. Last, I glued the pieces to the back.
Después, cuando ya tenía todas las piezas cubiertas de polipiel les hice unos cortes con un cutter de precisión y les metí piezas más estrechas de polipiel. Por último, pegué las piezas la parte de atrás
Finally, the dress is quite straight forward. I used a base pattern and a pleated skirt. Also, I made the arm covers with foam and the details were engraved with a soldering iron.
Finalmente, el vestido es bastante sencillo, usé un patrón base y una falda de tablas. También hice la armadura de los brazos con foam y los detalles los quemé con una pirograbadora.
Wearing my Akame Cosplay
I only have a few pictures from the day in Barcelona, thanks to Larxenne . Many friends went to the event and I was very happy to spend the time with them despise the long queue to enter.
Solo tengo unas pocas fotos pof ahora, gracias a Larxenne. Muchos amigos fueron al evento y lo pasé genial con ellos incluso a pesar de las largas colas para entrar.
Fun Fact. I wore contact lenses for the first time ever with this cosplay. It took me about an hour to get them in! Actually, this is how it felt wearing my first contact lenses.
