Sweety Devil Green lenses

The Sweety Devil Green contact lenses have a dark green colour. They are not as vibrant as the Sweety Devil red which I reviewed in the past, but they are nevertheless interesting. On top of my dark eyes they became a deep jade colour. The outer rim is escalonated in black and it has a starbust effect in the center as well. One of the main features of this collection of lenses is the slits that let your real eye colour show through them.

These lenses make your eyes look bigger and they are great for a subtle effect. Although they are dark and not my favourite lenses, I am sure I will find them use for many other characters. For example my Froppy cosplay would be a perfect match.

Cosplay wig – Jibryl

For my cosplay I was looking for a hot pink wig. The colour I wanted seems to be difficult to come across and most pink wigs I found had a rather pastel tone to them. Fortunately, the Jibryl wig from No game no life was exactly what I needed for Moka.

One of the things I like the most from Uniqso’s wigs is their quality. The fibers of their wigs are very smooth and very often, you find wigs with a mixture of colours. In this case light pink and dark pink. This makes them look very natural and ads interest to them. They have a lot of hair and are soft too.

I can’t wait to show you more pictures of my Moka cosplay. I have already shot this look with her maid outfit. Hopefully I will make her school uniform soon as well very soon. Inner Moka is coming too!

Making off the dress

For once I decided to make an easy dress. just, it wasn’t that easy! The base of the dress is a simple sleeveless pattern with darts in the bust and a gathered skirt rougly twice the size of my hips in chiffon. One of the reasons I made it was to reduce some fabric from my stash that had been there for a long time. The purple detail consists on an elastic trim which I cut and handsew to make it look how I wanted, it took me several hours but was worth the time.

Sweety Queen Dark Violet Lenses

Tomoyo has very dark purple eyes, in this occassion I chose the Sweety Queen Dark Violet Lenses which looked like a perfect choice for her. They come in blisters with a free case to hold them. If it is your first time wearing contact lenses remember to follow the best practices to keep them safe.

This circle lenses feature a dark purple colour with an outer black rim which makes your eyes look bigger. The uneven yet organic shape of the lenses make them blend with your eyes perfectly well. And they cover my dark eyes easily. As it is the case with Sweety lenses they are very cmfortable to wear.

Tomoyo Wig

I love when they make it easy to get wigs for your cosplay. Although I could have chosen any other purple wig, this one was particularly beautiful. The Tomoyo Wig features three different colours in their fibers, blue, dark purple and gray. It makes it look more natural. However, keep in mind that this wig looks darker in person than in the product photos. The wig is silky and full of hair and has lovely curls.

The bangs of the wig were already shaped for a straight cut. Nevertheless, I had to trim it a bit shorter to adapt it to the shape of my face. I also restyled each strand of hair individually, similar to how I untangle curly wigs, and I set it with strong hairspray to give it the anime look for Tomoyo.

This was a fun and easy project, but in the future I would love to make other Tomoyo dresses and more Sakura dresses as well. I can’t wait to use this wig and contact lenses again.

Post and packaging

Most wigs from Uniqso ship from China. However, premium wigs, as it is the case of lacefronts seem to come from Malaysia at the same time as your lenses. I always find shipments from this country seem to be a little bit faster.

As usual the wig came in a bag with a net and paper inside. All in perfect condition. No wig cap this time.

Description of the wig

This premium wig is very similar in shape to the Cocoa Auburn premium wig I reviewed some time ago. It has a blend of two tones of blondes which is very subtle and adds to the naturality effect.

The curls are perfectly shaped and the hair has a lot of volume. It is also very easy to part the wig to the side thanks to the front cap. The cap itself is skin coloured that helps blending with your hair.

The wig is also adjustable and it has little pis inside that help attach it to your head. In general the quality is stunning.

Specification

Blonde Bombshell wig for cosplay

This wig is perfect for fringeless blond characters. In my case I chose to wear it for my Black Canary cosplay. It would also work for Supergirl and other comic characters. Here I am wearing it with Sweety Cyan Mesh contact lenses.

Of course another perfect match would be Elsa from Frozen, although you have the option to get a budget wig for her that also works well.

Final rating

The only flaw this wig may have is that it is too perfect. The wig has so much volume and the curls are so perfect that it may be overwhelming. You really will look like a bombshell with this style of hair. Otherwise it is just perfect, and it is easy enough to style it for your purposes. A must have on your collection.

Shipping and packaging

I think I ordered this wig the day it got released in Uniqso. I like seeing the new items in their page as they are always bringing new wigs and contact lenses. Wigs from Uniqso usually ship from China and they take a bit longer than contact lenses.

I usually get information on the tracking of the item but this time I didn’t, probably because it was Christmas this wig also got a bit delayed. Nevertheless, it still arrived on time. As it is now common with their newer wigs it came in a plastic bag inside a cardboard bag and with a free wig cap.

Description of the wig

This wig has a very pale blond colour. It is very silky to the touch and it has very subtle waves on it. I was very happy when I realised the long fringe of the sides is actually cut to resemble Elsa’s layered haircut, Perhaps, some further adjustments and a bit of hairspray will help to create the illusion even more .

The main feature of this wig is that it has no fringe. Of course, it is not as detailed as a lace front but it is surprisingly realistic and a good choice if you are on a budget.

As it is common with lighter wigs, the wig net is skin colour, which helps with the illusion lighter hair. The hair is very dense as well and very easy to comb. You can easily plait the hair to create her other hairstyles in the film.

Wearing the wig for cosplay

Of course this wig was designed for the new look of Elsa in Frozen 2. Here I am wearing it with Sweety Harajuku Blue contact lenses (with I have already reviewed here), but there are many other characters that could use this wig.

Some of those characters include Supergirl or Black Canary, which are both in my to do list. In general, you will find most comic characters don’t have a fringe, the possibilities are endless.

Final rating

My first impresion of this wig was not great. I have very dark hair and eyebrows and believe me, blond is not my colour, however after I wore it with the correct make up the wig improved tenfold.

Elsa Frozen II wig

In general, I’m pretty pleased with the quality and effect of this wig. It may not be a lace front but it is a very good alternative, cheaper and much more comfortable to wear. This wig is very versatile and will work with many different characters as well.

For the first time my wig was actually delayed in customs. The wigs come from China and usually get here in less than two weeks. I have never had an issue with them before. I figured out the strange shape of this wig in particular may have caused some confusion in the scanners, or maybe it is just that Christmas is around the corner and they are really busy.

Similar to the Ochako wig, this one came in a box. Which is great considering it has a detachable part which is rather delicate. The wig came inside a net with some paper inside to protect it. It also came with a free wig cap.

About the wig

As all my previous wigs from Uniqso, this one is actually very good quality. Not only you can see it with the natural shine and volume of the wig but another way of knowing it is by looking at the inside.

The wig cap fits very well and the wig is very dense. You even have hooks to make your wig slightly smaller if needed. The fibers of the wig don’t get loose easily and the wig is long with long wefts of hair. The fringe however is not styled so you will need to trim it to get the true Asui look.

I was a bit concerned with the actual colour of the wig as in the pictures it looks a bit too light. However, the colour is actually beautiful and looks natural with two tones of moss green and blue.

Finally, the piece I was most looking forward to see was the loop on the bottom. It comes separate and seems to be foam wrapped with hair. It also has wire inside which makes it super easy to position it. You can attach it to the wig thanks to a clip which makes brushing your wig very easy.

Of course Asui Tsuyu was the choice for this wig, but you could also be cosplaying other characters with dark green hair like Sailor Pluto or Rina from Mermaid Melody. I just can’t wait to show you my Tsuyu cosplay.

For this look in particular I decided to wear the Sweety Galaxy Green contact lenses which I reviewed here. But I also think she would look amazing with something like my Sweety Pro Black which I also reviewed here.

As you may know, I have been reviewing Uniqso wigs and lenses for quite a few months now. I always try to be as neutral as I can with my reviews. And the truth is their wigs are just amazing. The quality of the fibers make them totally worth it.

Packaging and shipping

My wig as usual is from Uniqso. It arrived home in a couple of weeks and it was very well protected on a bag and a cardboard box as well as several nettings to keep the wig untangled.

Description of the wig

The wig features a parted hairline and two ponytails with buns. The hair goes on the direction of the ponytails and it has a lot of volume on it. It also features a fringe that frames your face and hides any real loose hair. You really need to look close to find any bald spots on it and you would get away with them as it is.

After further inspection I found out the wig is actually put together with several pieces. The base features two short ponytails and two longer detachable ponytails tied to the wig with a ribbon. The buns are attached with an elastic netting.

The wig cap on the inside is also very thick with a one piece net. The hair is very easy to detangle and soft, ever so slightly shiny but with a natural look to it when worn. The colour is not too striking either and I was very happy when I first saw it. However, I did notice that the adjustable loops that adjust the wig were missing. Probably because of the shape of the wig.

Re-styling the wig

Unfortunately, being on a bag for months, didn’t do any favours to my wig. Don’t get me wrong, it is still very easy to just apply some heat to get all the fibers back to their place. But I am not the kind of person that makes things easy. I took this chance to bring my wig to the next level.

Wearing the wig for cosplay

As to be expected this wig is ideal for Sailor Moon, but in a pinch you could wear it for other blond characters with short hair. It would also be a good wig for a Toga cosplay from my hero academia. The fact that the ponytails and buns are removable makes it more versatile.

I took some pictures with my Sweety Anime Blue contact lenses but I think Bunny will look better on Sweety K Premier Blue contact lenses from Uniqso. In my opinion these other contact lenses work very well for old style anime characters as I said in my contact lenses review. I think in general I am pretty happy with the final look.

Final Rating

I kind of was expecting a perfect wig and I should know that is virtually impossible. The wig is indeed very good and as it came it would have made a great match. However, I am much happier after re-styling it completely to my purposes

Shipping and packaging

My wig arrived from China by courier. They are actually very quick and they kept me updated sending me messages about the time the wig would be arriving. It was tracked and signed and I always knew where the wig was.

The wig was actually very well protected. It is the first time I get a wig inside a box as well as the usual net and paper inside. It also came with a wig net which is always a plus as I keep losing them.

About the wig

This wig has a lovely brown colour with red tones. It looks really natural and it comes with a bob cut with longer sides. For the first time in my many costumes I didn’t need to cut the fringe of the wig to make it look good. It is possible to make it a bit shorter but it is very wearable as it is.

After a long time storage it is normal to get the shape of the wig twisted. Nothing that can’t be quickly fixed with a quick blow of hot air. Otherwise the wig was perfect. It is also very soft and easy to detangle.

The quality of the wig itself is amazing. The net is very thick and durable. The fringe wefts are sewn to the edge of the net which makes it look very natural and avoids the “bald patches” effect you get in cheap wigs. The top of the wig is set with heat to dsguise the end of the net. I was weary of this part as I have other cheaper wigs that looked terrible and messy. This one actually works very well.

To be expected, I will be using this wig for my Ochaco Cosplay. She actually has different outfits that I want to make. It makes a great match in combination with my Sweety Shining brown contacts which I have already reviewed. Furthermore, I think this wig would also be a good base for characters like Yui Hirasawa or even Sakura with a bit of styling.

Final Rating

I think the quality of this wig is remarkable. It totally makes it easy to cosplay Ochaco and will save you a lot of time styling and cutting a wig from stratch. Very little styling to do and great quality, can’t ask for more. The effect is amazing and I couldn’t be happier with it.

Packaging and shipping

My package came from China. I ordered it with Sweety K Premier Blue lenses which I reviewed here. Red hair and blue eyes is a classic. As usual the packaging of the wig was perfect. It comes inside a plastic bag, a net, some cardboard from protection around it and paper on the inside as well. I loved that this time the wig came with a hair net as I have managed to lose most of my caps and I was in need of a new one!

Description of the wig

This wig is very smooth. Despise its length it was very easy to keep it tangle free. It has a very natural shine and the hair falls naturally even on the fringe part. The fringe itself has moderate volume and it is very easy to work with it. The wig is 80cm long and it gets past my hip. But I am very short so that is probably just me.

What I absolutely adore about this wig is the cap. It is very soft and really well made. It has lots of rows of hair an you can adjust it to your head with the little straps. Your real hair doesn’t show easily through the wig and it sits perfectly on top of your scalp. The fringe is very long and gets to shoulder length. This is what I would call a standard cosplay wig but of very good quality.

Wearing the Asuka Langley wig for cosplay

I highly modified this wig for my Asuka cosplay, I shortened the wig, cut bangs and added the little pigtails. It was actually very easy to hide the cap of the wig even when I made the ponytails. It would have been much more difficult with a cheap wig and I am happy of how natural it does look when you wear it.

Of course you know I got this wig was for Asuka, but there are so many other characters that you could make with this wig. Some of my favourites include Inoue Orihime, Misty, Miia from Monster Musume, Chiyo Sakura or Kagura from Gintama. Don’t forget Candace from Phineas and Ferb or Kim Possible too.

Final rating

I think the quality of this wig is amazing. It is super comfortable and has a very vibrant colour. If you are looking for an orange wig you can style yourself for your cosplay, this is totally recommended. However, as an Asuka wig it is slightly long. It would have been nice if it came with the two ponytails as well and a shorter fringe. That is the only reason why I will be dropping those stars.

Also, there are other reasons. Maybe you detangled your curly wig just to realise it had lost its shape. Or maybe you just need to curl a part of your wig and keep the rest straight. No matter the reason, using the hot water method to curl your wig is not always an option as it takes too long to dry. Here comes your hair iron to the rescue.

How to curl your wig

Wigs are different from human hair so do not expect them to be as easy to style as your everyday look. Very often they will resist you, but with a bit of patience and the right tools you will manage to win the battle. Always make sure you have a heat resistant wig and try your iron on a hidden side before you start. I recommend you the wigs from Uniqso, as they are high quality and great to work with. You also get a discount if you enter the code ALICECOS and believe me, they make a difference from the cheap one I am using for this tutorial.

Getting ready

For my wig I decided to use a hot iron wand that came as an extension of my hot iron, they come in different sizes and you can make very different styles with them. Using a normal hot iron is a possibility but can prove more difficult and you will get bigger curls than with a wand. Always use the lowest setting of your iron if possible. Curling your wig with hot water is also a possibility if you don’t have a wand, but you will have less control over it and you wig will need time to dry.

The easiest way to work with your wig is by using a wig head. Clamp it to your table or stick it to a pole that you can comfortably move. A wig stand is very inexpensive and will save you a lot of trouble and messing around.

First steps

In order to curl your wig you need to make sure that your hair is detangled and smooth. You also want your wig to be as straight as possible, you can use your straightener to do this or if you have time to let it dry use the hot water to straighten your wig method. Also, it is the time now to trim your wig if necessary.

Once the wig is prepared you will want to section it. You are going to be working with a strand at a time. Flat clips and bobby pins will be your best help here. Start by sectioning the bottom of your wig and clamp the rest away in a not too tidy bun.

A curl at a time

Grab a strand of hair at a time no bigger than the width of your iron wand circumference. Comb it again until it is completely smooth. This step is crucial for a perfect mess free curl. You will start by heating your strand of hair sliding the iron and straightening the fibers once or twice.

Then, position your hair half way the length on your wand, start twisting slowly and opening the wand an inch at a time. Pull down till you reach the bottom and try to keep as much hair touching the wand as possible as you roll it up to your wig cap.

Hold your iron a few seconds and slowly release the hair. The trick here is to hold the curl in your hand for a minute to let it cool before you let go. Letting go will create a nice wave, however do not let go yet if you are aiming for a really tight curl.

Really tight curls

If you are aiming for really tight locks the best thing to do is to keep the locks in place with a flat clip. Bobby pins can be used but they may leave a mark on your hair and tangle more easily. Don’t be like me and get your supplies ready before you start.

Once your wig looks like an old lady’s at the hairdresser’s gently spray with strong hold hairspray all over the wig and let it dry. My favourite is got2b by Schwarzkopf. A fine layer will be enough. If you are in a hurry you can use the hairdryer in a low setting to speed up the process. And remember not to leave your iron on the wig for too long or it will finally melt.

Extra tips

I find my ringlets will keep their shape more easily if you use hairspray on each one just before you curl it. Also, if you make sure all the curls face the same way your wig will look tidier. Consider this specially for the fringe and locks surrounding your face.

It takes trial an error to get the curls right. If you are not happy or your curl didn’t stay as you wanted, straighten the fibers and start from the beginning. Also, you may need to tidy your curls to make sure they are all in the right direction. You will neeed to loosen them and place them properly after you take the pins away.

Finally, I use a net like the ones where you usually store your wigs to keep my ringlets from falling down while I store it. You can actually wear one of these to the con as long as it is a similar colour to your wig. They are hardly noticeable and will avoid tangles. You may get away detangling your curly wig if you are careful but keep in mind that you will need to repeat all the process if it gets too messy.

Let’s be honest, when my wig arrived I thought, this is going to be just another typical wig I could have bought on eBay much cheaper. I was so wrong! I absolutely love this wig. To be honest, I don’t think I have ever worn a normal cap wig with no styling at all before and liked how it looked so much. I actually don’t want to cut it!

Packaging and shipping

My parcel arrived from China. It took longer than usual because they were on holidays over there, but I was aware of it and was happy to wait. I ordered it with a pair of contacts which arrived a few days earlier and shipped from a different warehouse.

As any other wig it came inside a net, with some paper support inside and outside the wig and inside a plastic bag. It is indeed the best way to keep your wigs free from tangles and the best way to store a wig.

Description of the wig

When I first saw the wig I thought it looked too shiny. However, when I tried it, it looked extremely natural. The colour is a natural deep black. The wig is styled with big waves on the bottom part and a long fringe. You can indeed wear it as it is but cutting the fringe is also a good idea for a more natural look.

One thing I love about this wig is that it has a center parting on the top just before the fringe. It makes it extremely realistic and it sits very well on my head. As any other wig it comes with loops that you can attach to adjust it and I must say the cap is actually bigger than other wigs I have tried, which makes it extremely comfortable and ideal if you have a bigger head or just lots of hair to fit inside it.

The hair is silky and has a very natural feel to it. It is very thick and easy to comb. This wig is a must for any cosplayer wardrobe or just for those who love wearing wigs as part of their daily look.

Wearing the black lolita wig for cosplay

There are countless characters who have black long hair. Mi first thought when I tried this wig was Vanessa from The little mermaid. Blake from RWBY o Wonder Woman are also good ideas. Tsukimi from Princess Jellyfish also has the exact same bangs.

I am using this wig for my Raven cosplay. But I tink this wig would have also been ideal for my Velvet Crowe cosplay or Elsa from Re:Zero. Here I am wearing it with my Sweety Devil Red contacts and  Stella Eyelash Pointed 8032 also from Uniqso.

Final rating

This wig is just perfect for many projects. if you are looking for a natural looking yet affordable black wig, the Lolita Wig 293A is the one to choose. It is not only beautfiul but easy to detangle and extremely comfortable as well. Furthermore, it has a lot of hair and it will not disappoint you. Indeed it exceeded all my expectations.
