Very often we focus on getting a very elaborate cosplay, but you don’t always need to try so hard to get something cool. I had forgotten how much fun it is just to wear something that will resemble your character without having to spend hours on creating elaborate dresses and armours. When my friend and photographer Mark Lycett was looking for a model I just jumped ahead with my Raven casual cosplay based on Picolo’s fanart.
How I made it
Let’s face it, Raven was a no brainer. I could have gone for the original purple hair but I kind of liked the black and found it more realistic. Also, I got this amazing black parted wig by Uniqso and Raven was the perfect excuse to wear it. I also wore my Sweety Pro Black lenses for this look. If you want to convince more yourself on how cool they are I made a review for the wig and a review for the lenses.
Most of the clothes for the cosplay I got from my wardrobe, but I will be sharing a little trick with you and will tell you my little secret to get affordable clothes for your cosplays without having to leave you sofa in one of my posts really soon.
Wearing my Raven casual cosplay
This photoshoot was a summer evening idea that came out of the blue. I had everything prepared for Raven and even had the patterns ready to paint my t-shirt and hoodie but as usual I had postponed it and left it in my to do list.
One of my favourite photographers had a last minute cancellation for a photoshoot and was looking for a model. The weather was so nice that I jumped ahead to the adventure. As Raven has lots of casual clothes I thought it would be a great idea, even if I hadn’t trully finished her.
We decided to go to Formby beach, which is next to a forest and has amazing views. The character worked amazingly well and Mark did his magic with the photos as the sun was setting. Last minute photoshoots are sometimes magical, don’t you think?

I had previously worn my Raven cosplay with her deffault costume, and I used my pattern collection to make her bodysuit. I hope you liked this one too.
